JAMAICA'S MILLION TREE CHALLENGE
Take the Challenge 4317 Trees Planted and counting...
Five ornamental trees were planted at the Ward Theatre on Labour Day May 23. Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Kingston's Mayor Delroy Williams were the first to plant trees donated by the Forestry Department.
Launched in May - It's a national challenge to plant 1-million trees by June 30, 2019. Trees may be fruit, timber, ornamental, flowering or mangroves but must be non-invasive and suitable to be area they are planted. Register planted trees at www.nepa.gov.jm.
On May 18 NEPA staff and partners were greeted with trees at its annual staff meeting.
