What’s playing on teenagers headphones?
Nowadays, most teenagers listen to a variety of artist and genres that goes from Country to Classic to Rock.
But not because they really like a specific gender, but mostly because it is trendy.
Based on a survey that we did on our high school, we have an idea of the kind of music and artist that our
generation listen to. It’s important to highlight that the most popular genres are pop and rock; also, other
important genres that are included are Rhythms and Blues, Rap, “Baladas”, etc.
And now, the top artists:

1. Justin Bieber and Taylor
Swift
It shouldn’t surprise us, since
they are so famous, huge and
their music (many of which
they don’t write) are so
relatable and radio friendly.
But a big reason on why these
two are the top ones is
because they are pretty much
perfect when it comes of
physique.
White,
straight,
blonde, tall, muscular, skinny,
young
charismatic
and
surrounded by other artist,
producers, preparation team,
etc.
Plus they are heavy fighters
on Social Media.

2. The Weeknd, Twenty
One Pilots and Julion
Alvarez:
Here is when things start to go
on different directions in terms
of music with Rhythms and
Blues, Hip-Hop, (The Weeknd)
Rock, Electronic, Pop, (Twenty
One Pilots)”Grupera” (Julion
Alvarez).
This strange mixture takes the
second place reflecting how
different the styles between
teenagers can be and how they
express themselves.

3. Juan Gabriel, Maroon 5
and Queen:
This selection is even weirder
than the second spot, but as I
said, teen’s preferences are very
different from one to another
and the 3rd spot shows it more
than ever. Juan Gabriel is more
of a “ballades” musician and a lot
of people are gravitating through
him, due to his recent death.
Maroon 5 is a band that has
been active for over a decade
and still going strong with their
latest releases and a gigantic
fan-base. Queen which is a classic
hard rock group, has never left
the spotlight, but lately, many
people has started to know them
better, thanks to their timeless
songs and eternal charisma of
their front man: Freddie Mercury.
