due to disappointing mechanical failures. This left Porsche with an unchallenged opportunity to grab its third consecutive win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with flying colours.

This was not the first time Toyota had a disappointing performance at this notorious endurance race. Last year when Audi exited the competition, Toyota had a clear chance at winning the title. Nevertheless, despite the solid performance of its two LMP1 teams, Toyota suffered a devastating blow in the final lap, when it’s leading No. 5 car began to lose power due to a connector defect on the air line.

Porsche on the other hand, was the lucky winner at both last year’s and this year’s race, mainly due to its 919 Hybrid cars.
