WHAT IS IT?
EFSC’ s Computer-Aided Drafting and Design Technology program prepares students to bring concepts to life using industry-standard design software and technical drawing skills. Students receive hands-on training in the use of specialized software including the Autodesk CAD suite and additional solid modeling programs for creating Architectural, Civil, Structural, and Mechanical drawings.
Technical drafters and designers work closely with engineers, architects, scientists, project managers, and production teams to create the precise technical drawings and 3D models used to manufacture products and build structures, such as homes and commercial buildings, infrastructure, and more. They transform ideas, sketches, calculations, and specifications into accurate working plans that make engineering projects possible and producible in less time than ever before.
