WHAT IS IT ?
Surgical Technologists work with the surgeon , anesthesiologist or anesthetist , and professional registered nurse as a member of the direct patient care team during surgery .
This two-year EFSC degree program includes an embedded college credit certificate and equips students with the skills they need to assist by preparing and handling supplies and equipment to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for the patient through specific techniques and practices designed to exclude all pathogenic microorganisms from the operative wound .
Note : EFSC ’ s Surgical Technology Services A . S . degree is a limited access program with a special application process
This program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs ( CAAHEP ), & Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting ( ARC / STSA ).
