PRACTICAL NURSING( LPN)

WHAT IS IT?

EFSC’ s Practical Nursing program is a one-year certificate program.
Under the direction of a qualified health professional, the practical nurse performs nursing functions commensurate with his or her education and demonstrated competencies. On a selective basis, this includes the performance of a wide range of nursing activities in semi-complex and complex situations.
Upon successful completion of the program, students may make application to and take the Florida State Board of Nursing examination( NCLEXPN) for practical nurses. With successful completion of the program and LPN licensure or a NCLEX test date, graduates will be eligible to apply to the Associate Degree Nursing transition to RN program. Upon successful completion of the Basic Healthcare Worker and Basic Nursing Skills courses, the student is eligible to apply for the State of Florida CNA exam for certification as a nursing assistant.
Students are admitted to the Practical Nursing program in the January term only.
Note: The Practical Nursing program is a limited access program. A specialized application process is required.
