NURSING RN A. S. DEGREE

WHAT IS IT?

Nationally accredited and approved by the Florida Board of Nursing, the EFSC Associate Degree Nursing Program( RN) is designed to produce a well-rounded nurse who is able to think critically, make appropriate decisions, communicate effectively, and function as a member of a health team in providing holistic care to culturally diverse clients.
It offers a traditional two-year program and a 13-month transition to RN program, which awards advanced standing in the A. S. degree program for qualified Florida Licensed Practical Nurses, paramedics, and registered / certified respiratory therapists.
Successful applicants for the two-year A. S. program will take part in training that includes behavioral sciences, as well as the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies required in the nursing profession. Technological innovations such as Human Patient Simulators and interactive labs are incorporated within the program. Clinical experiences that emphasize the development of critical thinking skills and involvement in the community are other key aspects of the program.
Upon completion of the program, the graduate is eligible to take the national examination for licensure as a Registered Nurse( NCLEX-RN).
Note: The Nursing RN program is a limited access program. A specialized application process is required.
