American Pop culture has spread like wildfire. Music, television/ film, and social media are three big ways the U.S. has shown their impact. The trends in America will continue to grow and change, but one thing that will stay the same is the world being influenced.

incorporate themes or narrative devices featured in them into their poems, short stories, or novels,"

The amount of Netflix users outside of the U.S were found to exceed the amount of users who are actually in the U.S. As for Snapchat, the app is used on the daily and Belgium was

ranked as the number one user in 2014.

The world of entertainment is important in every country. America is a role model in the cinematic industry. However, it wasn’t always this way, especially in Mexico.

During the first 3 decades of the twentieth century, Mexico mostly gained artistic inspiration from Europe and Native Americans. When American films started to gain popularity, the Mexican society developed strong opinions on them. While many became inspired to use American techniques in their films, popular Mexican writers like Ramón Lopez Velarde disagreed, believing it would negatively affect Mexican culture.

Not only was Mexican culture threatened by the American impact, Mexicans were also badly stereotyped in Western American films. Often times, they were represented as the antagonist, the evil bandit.
