Over the years, America has developed a culture of prominent preferences, customs, and beliefs in topics ranging from fashion, social media and even food. The term that describes this is American Popular Culture. It isn’t just Americans who practice these customs and values anymore, though. As time has passed, the world has caught on to the American Pop Cultural influence in a variety of ways, which include music, television/film, and social media.

American Pop Culture has a major role in exposing music to the world. Even in places like Germany, it’s very common to hear music blasting in English than in other languages. This is considered “Americanization” since a dominate language in the U.S is English.
Some genres that American Pop culture has spread across the globe are Jazz, Hip-Hop, and the Blues. Combining this music with a popular artist is the best of both worlds. Popular American artists have remixed old tunes and recreated them to appeal to a new audience. Take pop star Robyn Rihanna Fenty, known as Rihanna, for example. has started her platform in America and quickly blew up. A fairly recent song, “Wild Thoughts," produced by DJ Khaled, features Rihanna and American Rapper, Bryson Tiller, spinning off a 1999 song, “Maria Maria”.

This shows that the world is tuning into the music trends America has to offer. The statistics in music are constantly changing, but there is no doubt American Artists have earned their spot as one the most popular influences across the world.
The original song portrays Rhythm and Blues and is sung by Carlos Santana, a Mexican-American musician most popular around the 1960’s. Carlos Santana himself believed his song was revived for the world to hear.
