Terrorist’s goals are to spread persuasive messages to internet users. For example, twitter had so much propaganda usage in 2016 that they had to shut down 125,000 accounts due to many being linked to ISIS. Terrorists use big social networks to encourage new people to join the their group. Twitter and Facebook are still trying to keep the terrorists groups off their websites.
Terrorists view the internet as a ground for virtual training. They can show and instruct possible recruits on how to build explosives like suicide bombs, and pipe bombs and nonexplosive like guns and knives. They also inform these individuals on how to perform certain terrorist attacks as well as their reasoning for it. Terrorists also use online training to show possible recruits how to keep firearms and how to join the terrorist organization.
