the judges want to see. Don’t be a YouTube poser.” Unless you have the exact physique, attitude and experience of the likes of Angelica Teixiera, Shawn Rhoden, Cydney Gillon or Flex Lewis you might be wasting your time. Sure, get inspired by these fabulous champions, strive to achieve their positions but your style is dependant on your physique and attitude. Develop your best potential. Posing coaches and seminars can help with that aspect of your journey. One of the many newcomers, Jenny Day, who attended the J & H Promotions seminar in New Brunswick gained a lot of confidence; “ The seminar was great! It is an absolute must for any newcomer to this sport! The seminar touched on so many different subjects and the wide variety of guests made it that all questions could be answered. The posing at the end of the day was really great!! The girls were so helpful and made it so much fun! I finished the day having gained the confidence that I needed to get up there and rock the stage!” J & H put off an excellent seminar, sold out at 95 people and a wealth of knowledgable presenters and guests. Heather LeBlanc states; “Stage Ready Seminars have been extremely helpful and popular through the years giving the athletes a “hands-on” experience with Posing giving them an opportunity to ask questions and acquire the knowledge required to prepare and plan for a show competition. After having planned 34 seminars, more and more athletes have participated and there is always something fun and innovative to learn. We had 39 first-time competitors at last month’s seminar and it’s a great way to connect or network with others sharing the same passion and common goal. Our seminars never disappoint and numbers have increased significantly and the shows have evolved because of them.” The shows have evolved, interesting statement I think. If every competitor posed perfectly I feel the shows would be so much better. I have seen too many competitors with absolutely rockin’ bodies step on stage and completely blow their presentations. They do not show their exceptional features properly, they do not hide their defincies properly and end up losing their placings to a competitor who looks just as good but was able to pose properly. Can it happen, sure can. Posing coaches and seminars can and do help. At the recent posing clinic in Calgary presented by Paramount Performance’s John Dirks there were over 50 competitors gaining the knowledge they require to compete effectively on the stages in Alberta this season. CPA ambassadors and judges wer in attendance to impart their experience to the eager competitors. Posing clinic in Calgary February 23, great turnout for all classes and fantastic presentation by Paramount Performance. 95+ participants at the sold out seminar in Moncton. IFBB Pro’s, judges, promoters and photographers made this an excellent presentation. = success
