Stress is a huge deterrent to
mental health. Too much of it
can cloud your judgment and
lead to regrettable irrational
actions. Of course, we need
some stress. Stress is the
driving force that enables us to
excel at the things we care
about. That’s why we call for
stress management, not stress
elimination. With healthy
habits and lifestyle choices,
you can create an optimal
balance of stress in your life:
Get enough sleep: When you are
under-rested, you are more likely
to experience the side effects of
too much stress.
Say “no” to things you don’t have
time for. While it’s admirable for
you to try to pitch in for others as
much as possible, stretching
yourself too thin can make it hard
for you to perform at an optimal
level.
Make time in your schedule to
unwind and relax. Leave your
work at the office and let your
evenings be about bonding with
family or pursuing something
you’re passionate about.
