Drake & Daniel Caesar Among Canadian Grammy Award Winners Canadian rap and R&B superstar Drake picked up his fourth-ever Grammy, winning Best Rap Song for “God’s Plan” at the 61 st annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 10 th . He and rising R&B star Daniel Caesar were among the Canadians across a wide array of roles and categories who took home Grammys. Caesar took home a Best R&B Performance statue for “Best Part,” a collaboration with H.E.R. Canadian producer Shawn Everett was part of the team that won Album of the Year and Best Country Album for his mixing work on Kacey Musgraves’ album Golden Hour. Another Canadian producer, Greg Wells, was part of the winning team for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media for their work on The Greatest Showman’s soundtrack. Montrealer Willo Perron earned the Best Recording Package Grammy for his work on singer St. Vin- cent’s 2017 album Masseduction. COREY HART Corey Hart to Be Inducted into Canadian Music Hall of Fame CARAS has announced that singer-songwriter Corey Hart will be the 2019 inductee into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame. Hart, who has sold over 16 million albums worldwide and had a big hit with “Sunglasses at Night” in 1983, will be officially inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during The 2019 JUNO Awards on Sunday, March 17. To celebrate his induction, Hart will take the stage at Budweis- er Gardens to perform on live television and online for the first time in over 20 years. As well, a new exhibition honouring Hart, in partnership with CARAS, will launch at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre in Calgary. “It’s an incredible honour to be acknowl- edged alongside so many other talented and venerable Canadian artists,” says Hart. “My career goal since the beginning has al- ways been to remain 100 per cent authentic to my artistic vision while embodying the highest respect and dedication towards the craft I love so much.” For more information, go to www.canadianmusichalloffame.ca.
