Mingo Music Sales of Truro, NS has been honoured with the NAMM Milestone
Award for 50 years of service in the music products industry. Presented annually
by NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond, the Milestone Award recognizes music
businesses that have flourished through changing business environments to reach
a noteworthy anniversary.
“It’s a huge honour to be recognized by the largest international organization
of our peers,” says David Mingo, owner of Mingo Music.
Bob Mingo started his retail music store in the basement of his house in 1967.
Quickly outgrowing that location, he moved the business in the early 1970s. He was
joined full-time by his son David in 1992. After Bob’s passing in 2003, David took over
owner ship and relocated the store to its current location at historic 590 Prince Street
in 2006.
“Mingo Music has demonstrated the perseverance and passion to stand the
test of time, inspire countless others, and create a more musical world for the benefit
of all,” said Lamond.
Mingo Music Sales has planned a year-long schedule of celebrations and pro-
motions to mark the anniversary. For more information, go to www.mingomusic.com.
