Matt Armstrong Named ADI ’ s Ontario Sales Manager

… The owner of a 1935 Rickenbacker “ Ken Richards ” model electric guitar says he has sold the instrument for $ 7.5 million , which would be a new record price for a guitar ; however , the sale price has been questioned by experts . The 1935 Rickenbacker is historically important because it ’ s considered the very first fullscale electric guitar and only 50 were built .
Experts are questioning the sale price because it is far beyond the Rickenbacker ’ s estimated value and because the seller , Nicholas Lee , a guitar builder and vintage instrument dealer based in Delaware , couldn ’ t produce an independently-verified notarized bill of sale . Lee says the buyer is anonymous but that he will introduce them to the media in the coming weeks .
Music Monday 2017 to Showcase New Anthem
The Coalition for Music Education ( CME ) will commemorate Canada ’ s musical heritage with a new Music Monday anthem that celebrates the unifying power of music . Commissioned by the CME , the new anthem is co-written by award-winning songwriters Marc Jordan and Ian Thomas . Entitled “ Sing It Together ,” the new anthem is available in various languages and arrangements to be used in this year ’ s Music Monday celebrations . Music Monday takes place Monday , May 1 , 2017 in cities across the country , anchored by a showcase event in Ottawa .
The 2017 Music Monday sing-along will be led by a live-streamed national showcase concert from Ottawa , in recognition of Canada ’ s 150 th birthday . It will also continue last year ’ s # MMC2C2C initiative with a day-long webcast of videos from music programs across the country .

Hal Leonard has acquired Sheet Music Plus , a leading e-commerce website for music publications .
Founded in 1997 , Sheet Music Plus currently sells music from hundreds of publishers from throughout the world in both paper form and digital formats . It will continue to operate as an independent business led by CEO Jenny Silva and her existing team in Emeryville , CA .
Hal Leonard says it will use its new relationship to develop the ability for consumers to order from the SMP website and pick up their products at their local music store .
