If there is a vacancy in the office of President created by death , resignation , removal , or incapacity as determined by the Board of Directors , the First Vice President shall immediately assume the office of President . The new President , with the concurrence of the Board of Directors , shall name a person who is eligible in accordance with Constitution Article V Section 2 to serve as First Vice President . If there is a simultaneous vacancy in the offices of both President and First Vice President , the order of succession shall follow the order of officers as listed in Constitution Article V Section 1 . If there is a vacancy in any office other than President created by death , resignation , removal , or incapacity as determined by the Board of Directors , the President , in consultation with the Board of Directors , shall name a person who is eligible in accordance with Constitution Article V Section 2 to fill the position , though Article V Section 2 . B may be set aside at the Board of Directors ’ discretion .

The State originally holding the vacated office may not run a candidate for the same office in the election immediately following the one in which the State ’ s candidate was elected should the vacancy occur on or after February 1st of the year of service . An exception may be made for promotion to President ; if an officer should ascend to the office of President due to a vacancy promotion , their State may still run another candidate for the other vacated office the following year .
