Mats for the Homeless
A workshop will be held on July 14th, 10 am to 3 pm, to make
sleeping mats, for our area homeless population, out of
plastic grocery bags.
We will make PLARN (plastic yarn) from plastic bags to create
durable, moisture blocking, parasite resistant mats.
No experience required. There is something for everyone to
do. We need cutters, people to knot the strips into PLARN,
and crocheters.
Bring your energy, smiles, scissors or rotary cutters and
mats, clean plastic shopping bags, friends and, if you are
a crocheter, your crochet hook size L to R. Also, if you wish,
bring your lunch. Water will be provided.
Come for all or part of the workshop. And, if you cannot
attend, please start saving clean, plastic bags for the project.
There is a collection bin in the church narthex. Questions?
