Over the winter, we had special programmes, when we distributed 150 blankets in 20 villages. Government officials, block chairman, ZillaParishad and ward members were invited to these functions. This was reported in the local Odiya newspapers.
We want to share some of the testimonies of the people who were blessed through the ministry of Feed Odisha:
Dear Friends,
Greetings to you in Jesus ' matchless Name! We trust that each of you and your families have been protected and provided for by our Almighty God. Odisha had a sizzling summer, but all our staff have been kept safe by God ' s grace.
Here in our villages, your generosity has caused little congregations to rise, thereby glorifying the Lord for“ His indescribable gift”.
The tuition centres are located in slums and places where the very poor live. Here, school going children come for evening study. Our staff handle the classes. They help them with their lessons and also teach them about health and hygiene. As we take care of their physical, educational and spiritual needs, we are able to reach out to their families as well. We have 4 tuition centres in Kharair, 3 in Diptipur and 3 in Bargarh. Around 250 children benefit through these. Our intervention and motivation helps prevent dropouts from school. Education is vital if the children are to break free from the shackles of poverty and deprivation that enslave their families. The children here are very lively. A young man, Golak came to us for prayer when we visited his village. He had lost his eyesight. As we fasted and prayed, he was able to see faintly. This miracle led him to trust the Lord. His family were the first to respond to the gospel in this village. As they started praying for others, more people started responding. Now, more than 15 people gather regularly for the worship service.
A family that had been impacted by the surgery camp showed interest in the gospel. The head of that family, Mr. Chanchal requested us to conduct meetings every week in the village. Now, a small congregation has taken shape.
