brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.”
6) Reconciliation Prepares Us For The Lord ' s Second Coming
Act 24:14-16“ But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets, having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust. So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.”
Here we find apostle Paul testifying that he had taken pains to keep his conscience clear before God as well as man. We are living in the last days. The Lord is going to come very soon. We need to take part in the first resurrection. We cannot lead a lethargic lifestyle. We need to self-examine ourselves every day and be reconciled with people now and then.
1Thes 4:16-17-“ For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”
We do not know what would happen tomorrow. If we had hurt anyone; if we had angered anyone, we need to be reconciled to them immediately, today itself. Let us prepare ourselves for the Lord ' s Second Coming. He may come at any time. If the Lord would come today, will He find our conscience clear toward man?
Hence, let us be reconciled first.
