Meditate the Word of God yourselves. Beware of
those who speak of materialistic blessings only. None
of your wealth is going to come with you after death.
So why bother now. Store treasures in heaven where
you are going to spend eternity.
Jezebel advocated a doctrine which clearly
contradicted the apostles' teaching. Act 15:29 -
“Abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols, and
from blood, and from what has been strangled, and
from sexual immorality.” I once asked a brother,
“Brother don't you know this teaching is wrong? Is
this not contrary to the Bible?,” to which he replied,
“I know all of these. But these teachings are so
pleasing to hear.” Beware of being seduced by false
doctrines that are pleasing to the ear. Be a part of the
300 and not the 32,000 men in the army of Gideon.
God needs you to be a pillar in His church (1 Tim
3:15).
Heaven and Earth will pass away but God's
word will never pass away. Every ministry based on
the Scripture will stand the test of time and refining
by fire. Every other false teaching will perish. Please
test your church, test your teachings lest they consist
of compromised truth.
To the Church in Sardis the Lord spoke, “I
know your works. You have the reputation of being
alive, but you are dead. Yet you have still a few names
in Sardis, people who have not soiled their garments,
and they will walk with me in white, for they are
worthy” (Rev 3:1,4).
Eph 4:14,15 - “So that we may no longer be
children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried
about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning,
by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”
Let us be the few who hold on to sound
doctrine.
4.The Remnant Stands Firm In The Midst
Of Persecutions
Neh1:3 -“And they said to me, “The remnant
there in the province who had survived the exile is in
great trouble and shame. The wall of Jerusalem is
broken down, and its gates are destroyed by fire.”
There are different levels of
persecutions.Becoming a martyr, stoned to death,
thrashing, physical abuse and threats are violent
forms of persecution. The apostles were martyred for
God. Discrimination at home and work is also a trial.
Slander and false accusation s are also a type of
persecution.
Act 5:41,42 - “Then they left the presence of
the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy
to suffer dishonor for the name. And every day, in the
temple and from house to house, they did not cease
teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.”
Even in the midst of persecutions, they did not
cease the good work. It is no easy joke to bear
persecutions for God. One of our BYM missionary
and his wife were arrested few years back on false
charges and were paraded through the streets. He
told me, “I have never been so humiliated in my life.”
The best thing about the remnant is they who
preached once a week before the persecution now
preached daily after persecution! The more we are
oppressed the more we will flourish. Watchman Nee
once said “I don't want everyone to die as a martyr.
But I want everyone to be willing to suffer for
Christ.” If the Son of God can be submissive enough
to endure crucifixion, we His children should also
have the same mind.
