September 2017 Christians across the world are facing persecutions today. It is up to us to support them with bread, water and our prayers. Let us support the suffering Christians. Blessings For The Remnant If we are faithful and obey the Lord, the following promises will follow us. 1.God will open highways for the remnant 5.The Remnant Will Lean On The Lord Isa 10:20,21,22 “In that day the remnant of Israel and the survivors of the house of Jacob will no more lean on him who struck them, but will lean on the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth. A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return.” The remnant will look to the Lord and He will be gracious unto them. He will listen to their prayers. It is our duty to pray earnestly. Since the remnant is very small, they do not have any human support. They lean on the Lord. The only source of support is their Lord. It is vain to look to humans and their help. During the times of Solomon, when the first temple was built, he had money and power. But when the rebuilding of the temple was carried out, Zerubabel lacked both money and power. Hence the Lord encouraged him: Hag 2:8 “The Silver is mine and the gold is mine”, declares the Lord Almighty. The remnant did not have a mighty army like that of David and Solomon. They relied only on God. We may not have all the facilities but let us not be discouraged. Be faithful in what you have. Lean on God! He is your strength. The phrase, 'The Lord of hosts' occurs 82 times in the last three books of the Old Testament i.e. Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi. The 'remnant Israel' did not possess an army like that of David and Solomon, but the Lord of Israel revealed Himself as the Lord of hosts. Let us not be discouraged of what we do not have. But let us lean on the Lord. God will be sufficient for us. And let us look to the Lord always and seek His face. Let us spend more time in prayer and God will do great things through His Remnant. Isa 16:11 - “And there will be a highway from Assyria for the remnant that remains of his people. as there was for Israel when they came up from the land of Egypt.” 2.The remnant shall take root and bear fruit 2Ki 19:30,31 - “And the surviving remnant of the house of Judah shall again take root downward and bear fruit upward. For out of Jerusalem shall go a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the Lord will do this.” 3.The Remnant shall come together with one mind Mic 2:12 - “I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob; I will gather the remnant of Israel; I will set them together like sheep in a fold, like a flock in its pasture, a noisy multitude of men.” 4.The remnant shall be a blessing Mic 5:7 - “Then the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many peoples like dew from the Lord, like showers on the grass, which delay not for a man nor wait for the children of man.” 5.The Remnant shall multiply Zec 8:4-6 - “Thus says the Lord of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age. And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the Lord of hosts?” |PAGE 6|
