AUGUST 2018 Job declared that even the Heavens witness for him and the Lord testifies of him. Can we join together with Job and say that heaven will witness for us? subverts the cause of the righteous. I want to give some practical suggestions regarding maintaining integrity in our work place: Ex 23:8 “And you shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and subverts the cause of those who are in the right.” 1) Using the office phone for personal purposes and using the office printer for printing our own materials should be avoided. We think that we are saving a meagre amount each time, but we are losing our character. 2) Just because there is a medical leave available we should not avail it. All the gentiles do such things. There must be a difference between the children of God and the children of the world. 3) If we are a Doctor, we should not issue false medical certificate to a person who is healthy. Also we should not charge the patients for which the Government gives subsidy. Note the following verses which talk about bribes: Deut16:19 -“You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.” Isa 33:15,16 “He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly, who despises the gain of oppressions, who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed and shuts his eyes from looking on evil, he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.” 9) Let us not talk about the people who are above us. This is the direction that the Bible gives us. If we do not like the company or organization, it is better to leave than to talk negatively about the leadership. Ecc10 : 20 “Even in your thoughts, do not curse the king, nor in your bedroom curse the rich, for a bird of the air will carry your voice, or some winged creature tell the matter.” 4) Let us also not produce false community certificates in order to claim benefits from the Government. 5) For some, there is a provision for vacation claims. But let us not claim the amount by submitting false travel documents without going for a vacation. 6) Let us not do any personal work during office hours. Let us not earn money by telling lies. 7) If you are a student, you should not involve in malpractices during exams. Let us not desire such ill-gotten blessings. They will never be a blessing in our life. The Bible is the law book for us. We need to follow the Bible and nothing but the Bible. 8) Let us neither give nor take bribes. Bribe blinds the people. It not only blinds the eyes of the people, but also 10) Be not involved in strikes and other rebellious activities. See what the all-wise king Solomon says regarding strikes: Pro 24:21 “My son, fear both the Lord and the king, and don't keep company with rebels”(ISV). Even if the whole world goes in the wrong direction, let us stay in the narrow road. Let us lead a blameless life. We need to have faith in the Lord that only He can meet all our needs. He will promote us, if it is required. What He gives is enough for us. 11) We need to move carefully with the opposite gender. In the Old Testament, we find that Potiphar trusted Joseph and handed over to him the entire responsibility of running his household. It was in this position of trust, Joseph was tempted by Potiphar's wife. But he maintained his chastity. He was faithful and blameless towards Potiphar and towards God. Later, God lifted him up in the land of Egypt. page 05
