At the first turn to the right, next to the
tombstone, left from the former cemetery,
where the victims of cholera pandemics
were buried, we move towards the village
of Ilivtsi. We come across a few rises
on the unsealed road; and on getting to
concrete plates (with apple gardens and
private dachas being on our right), turn
left at the road fork, then, following small
rises, we get to the chapel (not far from the
kryivka). The road again splits into a fork,
and we turn right, and on moving along

serpentines, rather quickly get down to the
small town. Instead of crossing the bridge,
one should turn left from the asphalt road,
then, upon passing a small house, we go
along the lakes (on our right hand side),
after that, it is worth asking locals – how
to get to the Ilivtsi Caves.
On the whole, it will take you up to
two hours to get from the palace to the
caves; but even a quick tour around the
caves will take at least one hour. One
should take a good rest as well as to
have a lunch since the rise to Stilsko is
long and difficult. You will be better off
if before setting off for the settlement,
double-check the direction with local
residents. So, we will move up across the
fields, located along the left branch of the
road.
