Santa Claus is coming to town,
and he is bringing all his drunk clones with him.
For those of you who have no idea what SantaCon is, the best way to describe it would be like combining Christmas, Halloween and your birthday all into one huge Holiday event. If you cannot imagine that, try to picture thousands of people dressed as Santa Claus and other Christmas characters including Rudolph, Frosty and the elves gallivanting throughout the streets of NYC. What are they doing you ask? They are barhopping! No sleigh needed on this magical journey because navigating is the easiest part. All the bars are next door to each other and preparing for the Christmas chaos to arrive.
SantaCon 2015 started in Brooklyn but made its way over to Manhattan faster than you can name the reindeer in order. Bars like the Brazen Fox, Tonic and Penny Farthing were outrageously exciting filled with rowdy Santa clones ready to rage.
Enough about the explanation of what this unique Holiday occasion is, you will never fully understand until you experience it first hand for yourself. SantaCon will take place on Saturday, December 10th 2016. Luckily for all you broke college kids, admission to this event is free! You can however donate to SanataCon’s charitable causes online. In the past four years this event has raised over $200,000 for each cause.
