CHAMBER FOUNDATION LEMONADE DAY COASTAL BEND PRESENTED BY TH E PARADE OF H OMES IS SATU RDAY, M AY 12, 2018! T he United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce Foundation is proud to announce the 6th annual Lemonade Day Coastal Bend presented by the Coastal Bend Home Builders Associ- ation Parade of Homes on Saturday, May 12, 2018. The mission of the Chamber Foundation is to develop and empower leaders and entrepreneurs to make a positive impact in Corpus Christi. Lemonade Day is a nationwide educational initiative that introduces youth to entrepreneurship, teaching them how to start, own, and operate their own business- through the hands-on expe- rience of running a lemonade stand on Lemonade Day. Youth set goals, create plans and work their plans to achieve success. They earn real money and use 100% of their profit to spend, save and share based on their goals. Along the way, youth build self-esteem and new mindsets that can propel them to success they may have not pursued otherwise. “We are excited to be part of such an outstanding event,” said Wendy Herman, Executive Director for the Coastal Bend Home Builders Association. “The builders and associate members of our as- sociation are all entrepreneurs. We really hope to inspire young people to consider careers in the construction industry by showing them that owning their own business can make all their financial dreams come true.” The foremost objective of Lemonade Day is to help today's youth become the business leaders, social advocates, community volunteers and forward-thinking citizens of tomorrow. 21 BUSINESS MATTERS MARCH 2018
