Lucy Boyde – Ascot Racecourse

My name is Lucy Boyde, and I am about to complete a BA in Religion, Society and Culture. Through my degree, I have developed strong communication, research, and analytical skills, as well as a deeper understanding of people and society. Alongside my studies, I have focused on marketing student events and was recently part of the marketing team for Europe’ s largest student fundraiser. This role helped me develop skills in social media marketing, teamwork, audience engagement, communication, and creative campaign planning.
I have also worked as a waitress, where I developed strong customer service skills and learnt the importance of creating positive customer experiences in fast-paced environments.
I am very excited to learn more about the horseracing industry, particularly the behind-the-scenes running of the sport and how different areas work together to deliver successful events and maintain the reputation of the industry. In the future, I would love to build a career within the industry in an events or communications-based role.

Natasha Kent – Tattersalls

Hi, my name is Tash Kent. After completing my A Levels, I decided to go straight into full-time work rather than university, as I have always preferred learning through hands-on experience. I currently work in marketing for a large equine retailer, having previously studied Graphic Design and English at college as I felt it suited my creative personality and interests well. Since starting my role, I have had the opportunity to work across a variety of areas within marketing, which has taught me a great deal and helped me grow professionally and personally. It has also made me realise how much I enjoy the creative side of marketing, particularly content creation, and I would love to continue developing my skills further in areas such as photography and videography.
Horseracing has always been a huge part of my life from a young age. Being able to ride out most mornings before work gives me a great balance and keeps me well motivated. I also regularly attend race meetings, whether helping with my dad’ s horses or simply enjoying the atmosphere and experience of the sport itself. Seeing both sides of racing has made me even more eager to build a future within the industry, and I feel I still have so much more to learn and contribute to the sport in the future. careersinracing. com
