The Plastic Problem
Could your conscience cope with knowing that the plastic bags and bottles you use nearly every day are lethal killing machines to animals and marine life? Plastic strangles, chokes and traps innocent creatures every day. Could you live with being guilty for the rest of your life about the plastic problem?
Plastic use should be limited because it kills sea life and creates pollution. You might think that a few plastic bags don't matter but it does matter. The plastic that you use adds to the estimated 3.5 million bits of plastic that enter the sea every day and kill innocent marine life.
Take a minute to think about your life. What do you see? Plastic - chairs, tables, drink bottles, wrappers, toys. Our lives revolve around plastic. But that is something we can change, Tim Silverwood, Ambassador of 'Take Three' said, "Think about your relationship with plastic so you can make a change now." He also encourages everyone to pick up three pieces of rubbish each time they visit the beach. Just think, by 'Taking 3', you may be saving an animal's life.
The plastic problem isn't just at sea, it's in the air too. The production of plastic can and will damage the ozone layer and pollute the earth. That is problematic for humans and animals now and in the future.
In conclusion, plastic wastage and pollution must be reduced. Remember to reduce, reuse and recycle!
