Should Computers

Replace Teachers?

Technology can open minds, expand ideas and change the world. But is it the only solution to 21st Century learning? Should technology be used in place of teachers?

Computers should not replace teachers because a computer cannot care for a child, let alone protect and nurture them. A learning child needs encouragement that computers simply cannot give.

Furthermore, computers should not replace teachers because teachers have brains that facilitate learning and computers rely on human brains to operate computers. Computers also malfunction easily which will prevent students from completing their studies.

It's ludicrous to think that computers should replace teachers because children need to develop socially. It is very important for a child to bond with people their age and with positive role models such as teachers. Computers can't give a child that type of bonding time so children could end up socially awkward.

To conclude, computers should never replace teachers. I believe that tecahers should maintain their role and use computers as a tool to assist student learning. Otherwise, students will not receive the care and protection they need, will struggle to finish their work without support and will miss out on crucial social experiences.
