CONCEPT MODELLING, LIGHT & COLOUR. The atmosphere I imagine my scheme to be is calming, relaxed and safe. To explore a variety of design concepts, I began by creating various paint swatches and water colour strips, and placing them inside a model of the site. The green and violet quadrant of the colour wheel has been explored through the colours chosen, representing natural and calming effects to the user within the site. By combining shades of green, turquoise and light brown, I generated several patterns that when crossed over, create a tranquil environment with a biophilic approach. Figure 31. Figure 32. Figure 33. Figure 34. Figure 35. I began this process by creating abstract patterns onto plain paper using water colours and acrylic paint. I then cut the papers into strips, folding them into various shapes and placing them within a concept model of the chosen site. This process allowed me experiment different routes and structures in a unique way, creating primary concept plans for my scheme. The words below describe a nomenclature of colour; a list of nouns and adjectives that describe colours that I will use in my project. Figure 36. Figure 37.
