Do they know what they’re talking about? Can they answer all your questions? Do they have a bit of experience to back up their ideas? Can they provide references of previous clients if you ask for them? Can they show you pictures or videos to give you a good visual grasp of real weddings they have put together in the past? Even though you may have only had one meeting at this point, you can still draw out some good gauges of their efficiency and the service you are likely to receive. Did they respond quickly and clearly to your enquiry? Here is a good clue – did you receive a generic response, or was it personal and tailored to your questions and needs? Obviously the proof is in the pudding, so to speak – and you will really find out how good (or not) a planner is when you work with them. So if you cannot answer ‘yes’ to both of these key questions... you’ll probably be best advised to keep looking! But if you feel confident and comfortable from the outset, you’re most likely making a great choice.
