Feel free about
Your special day

T
he church was just as it should always be….silent, neat, orderly and of course, proper. Dark wood pews silently creaking from decades of decent church folk’s visitations and piety. An organist sits miming some sombre piece to make sure that she can reach the pedals well enough, glancing over her spectacles at the sheet music to make sure she has the correct piece. Somewhere a mother and other family members flit about on tiptoes, ensuring all the notices are laid out, the flowers are just so, the guests are smiled at. An usher stands at the door with white gloves on and maybe a top hat and tails smiling and nodding as guests enter…..I’ve seen this before….ah, yes, at funerals. Way too old school for today’s Renaissance of colours and choices. I say “out damn spot”….no not that one….yes, out with tradition, although she has served us well for centuries, and in with variety, a “fiesta salvaje” (google it). Your wedding day should not be what tradition dictates, but what will make your wedding a day to be cherished with comfortable and happy memories that you have created.
