Members met at the home of Darlene Johnson
for our September meeting. This was held on
the patio overlooking a magnificent garden
featuring a large area of thriving native trees.
Various items were discussed with a proposal
to hold our Christmas breakup at Moorlands
Bush Nursery, some fund raising suggestions,
Craft Weekend and catering for the 2020 Open
Days at Springhill Country Craft Retreat.
These will be a Biggest Morning Tea Function
with Market Stalls on May 30 and then a
Celebrate Craft and Market Stalls on October
10.
After the meeting, Darlene gave members a
guided tour of the extensive gardens which
included the amazing native areas and to die
for enclosed vegetable gardens.Our thanks go
to Darlene for sharing her lovely gardens with
our Branch. Our next meeting will be held at
the Amby Hall on 10 th October where everyone
is welcome.

C17 Loco Leaving Town
The first part of the C17 locomotive left
Mitchell on Saturday September 14. Locals
gathered to see the removal of the coal wagon
as its wheels creaked and groaned into motion
as it was loaded carefully on to a float ready
for its long journey to Brisbane where the
wagon’s restoration will begin. In the next
week or so the C17 steam locomotive will
