Jackson Jottings QCWA Jackson Branch organised a games afternoon on June 20 for all ages. 14 people attended and all had a great time! Our meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Jackson Hall at 12.30pm. We are always looking for new members and guest speakers. Wallumbilla Rifle Club’s success at State Titles 2. 1 & 2 Trophies and certificates won by Wallumbilla Rifle Club members at State Titles. Top working cattle dogs coming to Wallumbilla community to host the national championships. In addition to the championship, there will be a Queensland versus New South Wales State of Origin Trial where the 6 best trailers and their dogs from each state go head-to-head in a competition as fierce as its football namesake. The event is supported by major sponsor Santos and generous sponsorship of local businesses and also cattle and transport donors. Without this support the event couldn’t go ahead. Proceeds from the food and beverages will go to the local P&C and Benderoo Bulls. Local trailers to watch include Anita Albeck and Ross Kehl who are running the trial and have a lot of experience between them. Dulacca trailer Isaac Holtz and Drillham’s Jamie Sturrock have a few Australian and Queensland Championships between them so will be highly competitive. Wallumbilla is set to host the Australian Working Cattle Dog Championships for the first time from August 9-11, 2019. Over 150 dogs from around Australia will contest the Open Championship. The Wallumbilla team consisting of Jack Moller, Ashley Fleeting, Tyson Crawford and Shayne O’Neil were very successful in their first attendance at a State Titles winning 3 divisions and picking up a further 3 rookie awards. Jack Moller collected the Best Overall Rookie Award. Tyson Crawford 1. First place in Standard division. Ashley Fleeting Second place in Production division and Production division Rookie award. Lachlan Weekes First place in Production Optics division and Production Optics Rookie award. 14 stages were completed over 2 days with approximately 250 rounds fired. 157 shooters from both Australia and overseas attended with supporting officials and Range officers. Regular IPSC pistol shoots are conducted at the Wallumbilla Rifle Club. Visitors are welcome and anyone 12 years and over can compete in this dynamic sport. The next IPSC shoot will be a 2 day event held from 2 pm to 10 pm July 27, 2019 followed by 8 am – 3:30 pm on Sunday July 28. The club is located on the Warrego Highway 4 km East of the Grain Silos at Wallumbilla.
