Royal Palm Estates – fit for a king
The prestigious new Royal Palm Estates development, which will offer a host of activities for residents in a beautifully
landscaped estate, is set to provide an attractive lifestyle alternative to residents and businesses on the KwaZulu-Natal
North Coast.

he leading development, which is situated near Tinley Manor just north
of Ballito, will ultimately consist of about 3 000 residential homes, a
250 hectare corporate park and an 85 hectare office park.
SBA has been appointed to undertake the design and management of
installation of all the bulk services for this project, as well as the internal
services in a joint venture with another local firm of consultants.
Construction value of the first phase is approximately R40-million, which
is due for completion in a fast track nine month period.
Servicing of the office and corporate parks is due to commence in the first
quarter of 2007. The total civil engineering services infrastructure in the
development is expected to ultimately exceed R300-million.
Included in SBA’s scope of work are water reservoirs, sewage treatment
works and pumpstations, sewer and water reticulation, road works, stormwater
and flood attenuation, platforming of sites, dams, irrigation to enhance the
picturesque landscaping and ducting of services, as well as liaison with
authorities on service provision and approvals.
With planning and statutory approvals in place, work on the installation of
infrastructural services for this massive development is progressing at an
impressive pace.
Currently under construction, as part of the first stage, are the 6,6 megalitre
reservoir, the interim 2 megalitre/day sewage treatment plant and associated
pumpstations, as well as the bulk and internal services for the first 500
residential units.
