Shabbat

Shabbat is the Jewish Sabbath. According to Jewish tradition, the week begins on Sunday and Shabbat falls on Saturday. Days are considered to last from sundown to sundown, so Shabbat actually begins on Friday evening and continues until Saturday evening. Shabbat is considered one the most sacred of all Jewish holy days, and a long list of customs has developed over time. Some Jews do not work, travel or even use electricity during Shabbat.
