If you are a tourist in Israel, then you should be careful taking taxis. Most taxi drivers are nice but, there are some who try to overcharge you because you are a tourist, so unless if you are lost, try to taking a “sherut”, or a “sharing taxi”. Even for me, after a year of living in Israel, I finally used taxis, only when I could speak and understand Hebrew

Sherut

A unique sharing taxi service in Israel, ‘Sherut’ is taxi (10-12 seater van) that generally follows major bus routes and mostly operates between major cities. Pricewise, sherut taxi fares are a set price and are similar to public bus fares. They normally reach their destination faster and tend to be less crowded. Sherut operating hours also extend longer into the night.

Sherut fares

-6.5 shekels (1,800 won)

-From Tel aviv to Eilat (similar from Seoul to Busan) takes 5hours to 6hours

-One way 78 shekels (26,000 won), round way 136 shekels (45,000 won)
