The time we spent in Mexico City was filled with adventures and new discoveries. We visited the Teotihuacán Pyramids, located at the northeast part of the city, and also the Soumaya Museum, the Frida Kahlo Museum, and the Castle of Chapultepec. It was so interesting to meet the Mexican people, who are very nice and kind. One of the cutest phrases they say is ?que tengan un bonito día? (?have a beautiful day?), and we were surprised that most of the time the drivers let you cross the street without complaining. Speaking the same language but listening to it in another accent was sometimes funny and very entertaining for me. After eating, we took the road northward to San Miguel de Allende, where we spent most of our trip. There the only true way in which you can enjoy everything is by walking. This town is filled with manufactured art, bright colors, and charming restaurants. Only a few steps can take you to a completely different atmosphere, where you could find food from all around the world, but still maintaining the Mexican vibe and culture. In addition, San Miguel owns some of the coziest and most stylish cafes where you can relax from walking while drinking something warm. After driving an hour on a very curvy road, we arrived to Guanajuato City, where we spent only one afternoon, but still enjoyed some churros and visited the Diego Rivera Museum. In Guanajuato, we were able to witness a breathtaking masterpiece, El Teatro Juárez (Juárez Theater). We went back to San Miguel for a few more days, and received the new year with the four of us cuddling on a couch and listening to fireworks. On January 1st, we went back to Mexico City, wishing for our road trip not to come to an end. The most delightful part of this trip, more than being on vacation and traveling, was to be together as a family, to learn more about each other, and to know that together we are stronger. My mom and I miss sharing time with my sisters, so this trip gave me the opportunity to have them all for myself once again. 9
