The Bible on Love
?Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity
envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not
puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly,
seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,
thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but
rejoiceth in the truth, Beareth all things,
believeth all things, hopeth all things,
endureth all things. Charity never faileth? ?
~ 1 Corinthians 13:04 ? 08a (KJV)
In today?s age, we have many people
who do not understand the real meaning of
love. But we, as children of Yahweh Almighty,
only have to open our Bibles to see the
theme of love everywhere. And because we
have such a vivid description of what love
really is, we know and understand its true
meaning so much better than those who are
not Christians. Love is giving your time,
attention, and care. It is sacrificing your own
needs and wants for someone else. It is
selfless, humble, and fulfilling. Romans 13:10
says that love fulfills the law. Love stands
forever; it never fails.
In the book of Ruth, we see an
example of biblical love. When Naomi left
Moab to return to Bethlehem, Ruth didn?t
have to go along. She could?ve stayed with
her family, and be taken care of. She could of
even have married again later on. But she
decided to go with Naomi. By making this
decision, she showed that she loved Naomi,
in the way that we are supposed to love all!
She sacrificed comfort and convenience, and
took the rugged path instead.
Ruth endured days on the field, picking
up barley. She bore it all well, and her love

never stopped. She just kept on staying with
Naomi, taking care of her, and even obeying
her. The Bible doesn?t mention how long
Ruth actually took care of Naomi since they
left from Moab up until she married again,
but it definitely wasn?t just a week.
Her love, and obedience, led her to get
married to Boaz. He took her as wife, and
there is no doubt that she loved him the
same way that she loved her mother-in-law,
for she had that perfect love in her heart. And
love brings joy; it did for both her and for
Naomi. Naomi got a grandson, and Ruth got
a family.
Love is Elohim?s will for us. He wants
us to be loved by others, and He wants us to
love all. If everybody in the world had that
perfect love in their hearts, our world would
be? perfect!
February 14 stands known as
Valentine?s Day. But let?s not just be loving to
our families and friends, and give them gifts
and extra attention on this particular day. Let
us rather strive to love them every day. Let
us give them gifts, just because we want to,
and give them extra attention, just because
we care about them. Let us love them wholly
every day, with the love that Yahshua
harbors for us every day. His love never
stops. It doesn?t take a holiday, and it doesn?t
take a breather. No, His love is always there
for us, and it never sleeps, just like our
Father who watches over us. So, let our love
never sleep for those we care about. Let us
show them every day how much they mean
to us, even if they drive us crazy.
