Dr . Mary Ellen Quint , an employee and English teacher at Ignite Christian Academy , passed away September 18 , 2023 . Dr . Quint , affectionately known as Dr . Q . by students , was an English Language and Literature PhD employed by Alpha Omega Publications for 45 years . She authored much of the English-related LIFEPAC content , positively influenced the development of the school , and had a lasting impact on both staff and students over her long career as an educator .
She is remembered as an encouraging , caring , and dependable coworker as well as a true friend to many . Not only did Dr . Quint have a rich work life , she had an intriguing personal life as well .
She was born and raised in Kenosha , Wisconsin . She moved to Arizona in 1970 , was married , and had two children . She is survived by her son and daughter as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild . In addition to fostering hobbies such as piano , camping , cooking , and reading , Dr . Quint was also passionate about herbal medicine . She believed that the properties of the herbs God made could not only make food taste delicious , but also help heal and detoxify the human body . She specialized in using these herbs to make remedies for a wide range of maladies , from calming an upset stomach to staving off a cold . She enjoyed this activity so much that she said that if she had to leave teaching , she would want to obtain the certification necessary to pursue a career in the field .
However , the most notable aspect of Dr . Quint ? s character was her unshakable faith in Jesus Christ . Dr . Quint ? s ultimate goal was to impact faculty and students for the sake of the Kingdom . Her outlook on life was an eternal one , constantly focused on glorifying Christ in life while looking forward to the promise of heaven as her reward .
Although Dr . Quint ? s physical body is gone , her spirit is with her Lord and Savior , and her godly attitude and advice will remain in the hearts of staff and students the rest of their lives . This is proved by teachers from the English department who summed up and celebrated the life of Dr . Quint . Each
