Philadelphia Office Service Project at Smith Memorial Playground
Colleagues from our Philadelphia office spent an October afternoon volunteering at local Smith Memorial Playground in Fairmount Park . Smith Playground is a Philadelphia treasure as it provides a free and safe place for the city ’ s children to play . Our volunteers worked on projects to help prepare for the playground ’ s annual “ Barely Scarely ” Halloween Spooktacular . They assembled and cleaned equipment , created Halloween decorations , filled goody bags for the kids , and hung skeletons and Halloween banners . Additional people from our Philadelphia office donated candy for the approximately 700 children who attend the playground ’ s annual Halloween event .
Houston Office Volunteer Project at Spring Branch Family Development Center
Small acts , when multiplied by millions of people , can transform the world .
HOWARD ZINN
Colleagues from our Houston office spent an October afternoon volunteering at Spring Branch Family Development Center ’ s Fall Festival . The Center provides various services to more than 12,000 members of the Houston community each year . The Fall Festival included activities , games , prizes , and a petting zoo for the families to enjoy . Blank Rome volunteers registered the guests and gave away free hot spot devices so that families in the Houston area can use the Internet to help children with school and have greater access to more educational resources .
