Volunteers Prep , Donate Used Laptops for Inaugural Firm-Wide Community Impact Project
In August , just as kids across the country were preparing to return to school , the firm donated approximately 300 gently used laptops to children from low-income families nationally . The donation was made through a partnership with Compudopt , a nonprofit organization that is committed to diverting used technology from landfills and into the hands of children who would otherwise not have access to it . In order to get the computers to Compudopt , 75 volunteer attorneys and staff across all of our offices wiped clean the data from each of the laptops and prepared them for donation .
Los Angeles Office Volunteer Project for Baby2Baby
In November , colleagues from our Los Angeles office volunteered with Baby2Baby , a nonprofit organization that provides children living in poverty with diapers , clothing , and basic necessities that every child deserves . In the last 10 years , Baby2Baby has distributed over 240 million items to children in homeless shelters , domestic violence programs , foster care , hospitals , and underserved schools as well as to children who have lost everything in a disaster . Our volunteers sorted basic essentials , packaged items into bundles , and inspected items such as clothing , hygiene products , linens , diapers , and more to prepare them for donation .
