Alpine Climate

This type of climate is located in mountain ranges higher than 2500 m. Temperatures are very cold in winter and cool in summer while precipitation is abundant during the year, mainly in the form of snow in the winter time.
In addition, rivers have an abundant flow because it rains a lot . Therefore, vegetation is abundant. There are three levels with different types of vegetation: the lowest part of the mountain has farmlands and decidous forests; the medium part has coniferus forests and pastures and in the highest part there is no vegetation.
Besides, animals are not abundant because of the altitude and the extreme conditions. There are little mammals, birds, insects, reptiles . Humans live in the valleys, where the climate is milder. They live thanks to the tourism, they raise livestock or practice agliculture.
