Mediterranean Climate

The Mediterranean landscape is found in the costs of the Mediterranean Sea,

California, Central Chile, Southern Africa and in the South West of Australia.

Temperatures in summer are hot whereas they are mild in winter since the proximity of the sea regulates the temperatures. On the other hand, precipitations are not abundant and it occurs mainly in Spring and Autumn. As a result, summers are very dry and consequently the rivers have an irregular flow causing floods in Autumn. Mediterranean forests have evergreen trees such as pines and holm oaks. In addition there are shrubs and bushes like lavender and thyme. There are animals like reptiles, rabbits, birds and mammals such as wolves and foxes. Finally, the ground of the Mediterranean landscapes are good for agricluture. Humans produce cereals, olive trees and vineyards.

Tropical Climate

The tropical climate has been generally defined as being located between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tripic of Capricorn. Temperatures are high all year and rainfall is abundant, between 500 and 2000 mm, but it isn't regular throughout the year. Thanks to this, there are two seasons: the rainy season and the dry season. Consequently, water levels in the rivers are low in winter and high in summer.

Besides, there are savannahs, that are open grasslandas with shrubs and isolated tress. As a result, in this places there are many hervibores like gazelles, elephants and zebras. People in the savannahs raise livestock while other villagers depend on agriculture and on crop rotation.

Polar Climate

The Polar climate is a type of climate that is located in the regions of the north and south poles. The polar climate has de coldest temperature of the Earth. Winters are long and harsh with temperatures between -20ºC and -50ºC. In addition, there is no real summer because the warmest month is below 10ºC. Besides there is little precipitatio, just around 300 mm annually and it mainly occurs in the form of snow. For this reason, most of the rivers are frozen but in the summer, the snow melts down and rivers have a very high flow. The vegetation only grows in the tundra during the warmest period of the year and it is founded in the form of mosses, lichens, and small flowers. Animals such as reindeers, wolves and foxes live in the tundra. Due to the extreme conditions, human life is very difficult. Most of the inhabitants of this places raise reindeers, hunt or go fishing.
