BC: Any particular bike you DISLIKE?
SB: None.
BC: Tell us about your first ride?
SB: It was in 2000 when I went to Goa along with
my 3 friends on my Yamaha RX135 and a Hero
Honda Splendor. I am happy that from that first
ride I care for safety of my group and myself. It
was the first ride when I have used helmet and
make my friends used it too. It was a lifetime
experience with some unparalleled adventures
and unforgettable moments.
BC: What type of rider you think you are?
Aggressive or Conservative?
SB: Neither aggressive nor conservative; I
choose and I like to ride first safely and the Ride
Daba Ke.
BC: What special arrangements you do when
you go for a ride?
SB: Nothing special with respect to staying
comfort or other arrangements. I just make my
bike ready with necessary repairs and
replacements and a bag with least number of
clothes and a debit card of course.
BC: Any new rides are you planning?
SB: Yes, to the unvisited and unexplored part of
country, mostly Northern and North-eastern
India.
BC: We heard you've participated in the "Iron-
Butt" challenge, tell us about that, when, where,
and how was your experience?
SB: Yes, I have participated and completed it
successfully in May 2015 on my RE Thunderbird
350 and route was Adilabad - Bangalore -
Adilabad completing 1684 Kms in 23 hrs. 45
mins. My experience was very nice and horrible
at the same time as I don't remember the last 90
kms in the journey due to lack of rest and
sleepless 24 hrs.
This challenge made me understand its
complexity and high risk on Indian roads which
not at all recommended to anyone. I have never
promoted this challenge and never will. Even I
haven't applied for the certificate from the
organization.
BC: Tell us about your best and worst ride till
now.
SB: The best ride I have had was in 2015
Ladakh-Spiti with my wife and Unidos. It was a
long 27 days ride with amazing moments and
lots of laughters and explored every place one
can think of.
Ride can never be worst or bad for that matter, but
we may get some bad and bitter experiences on
ride; one of such ride is in 2018 Ladakh-Spiti
expedition with Unido on which some
orthopaedic complications happened to me which
certainly replaced my riding bliss with agony. This
vertebral complication made me sit at home for
almost a year.
BC: What's your life goal?
SB: Being a good father first of all, making every
single wish be fulfilled of my daughter
'Shreemayee.' I want to be a good human being who
stays responsible for his society and his country.
I really dream big for my UNIDOs, and I will certainly
work for that. My goal is making my Unido a club
that world will admire and be envious of at the same
time.
