BIKERS CLUB NOVEMBER 2019 ISSUE | Page 65

ISSUE 11 | NOVEMBER 2019 Mr. sunil Karnani, who's the reason behind me buying Royal Enfield in 2009. GUWAHATI - DAY 7 Now I have started covering up distances because of the good roads and facilities. You know every rider fears of two things in bad terrains and mountain range, that petrol and the bike's health, because in those secluded areas you seldom find any good mechanics and if some parts of your bike needs to get replaced then you are stuck. Either you have to tow the bike or arrange the spare - parts from nearest town and which is not near. By riding of about 300 kms I reached Guwahati, where again I met the admin of Rhino Riders club Mr. Krishnajana Chanda with whom I stayed the night. Rhino Riders had organized a small get to gather kind party for my cause ride where I met many riders from Rhino Riders. They felicitated me for this ride and in the next morning by changing my WIZARD's rear tyre, I left to Bongaigaon. BIKERS CLUB | MAGAZINE | PAGE 65 And they keep a track of it, If any rider comes to know that other rider is crossing his / her city then they make sure that he / she meet that rider. This kind of bonding you won't find anywhere except for Army. That's why I love riders and riders community. And also to let you know that I am the Honorary member of Teesta Thumpers and Arunachal Bullet Club both. REST DAY AT SILIGURI - DAY 10 Although I thought to rest to get some energy for my long journey ahead, Me and riders from Teesta Thumpers went for small ride to Kurseong after lunch which was about 40 kms ride to experience the 'Toy Train Railway Workshop' and also went to 'Dow hill school' which is known as haunted school and then in the evening we came back to Siliguri. BONGAIGAON - DAY 8 It was a 184 kms ride from Guwahati to Bongaigaon where I stayed in budget hotel. You know the best thing about riding; is that you get to meet many riders and people whom you don't know personally but may be through social media. And when we meet, it feels like we know each other from ages. That's why I call this a real brotherhood. Sometimes your relatives won't come to your rescue in troubles but riders will always stand by in troublesome situations. I must tell you and confess that the Army taught me discipline and focus but riding gave me fuel to live my passion of exploring places. There are people in normal life does nothing except for gossiping and pilgrimage trips but for me after retirement I got another birth and I am as active or may be more active than any other youngster. SILIGURI - DAY 9 Reached Siliguri, West Bengal in the evening form Bongaigaon by riding almost 300 kms, where I was welcomed by Teesta Thumpers club. Due to social media riders get to know about other riders rides, PATNA - DAY 11 On about after riding 460 kms I reached Patna, Bihar from Siliguri, West Bengal, few of my old rider friends escorted me from highway to Patna Sahib Gurudwara, where I stayed. In the morning went for the darshan at gurudwara where the head priest (Granthi) came to know about my "Save The Girl Child" cause ride, so he invited me and felicitated with the 'Saropa' (Shawl), after having lunch at the Gurudwara lungar, I headed for Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. LUCKNOW - DAY 12 550 kms ride from Patna Sahib to Lucknow by reaching there at the sunset, I knew I had to take a rest tomorrow from ride because I wanted to do some updation in my army pension documents, because I had retired from Indian Army from Lucknow.
