ISSUE 11 | NOVEMBER 2019 BIKERS CLUB | MAGAZINE | PAGE 64 KIBITHOO - DAY 1 - MORNING FLAG OFF It was 6:30 am, there was something different there at that land, cool breeze were hitting my face and every sip of my tea was sinking me to nostalgia in that army camp, by seeing the Jawans morning routine I remembered my old days when I used to do all these. With the tea and little breakfast I explained my "Save The Girl Child" cause ride to Koteshwar to few of the officers and Jawans there, we were so engrossed in our talks on every topic that I didn't realize the time which flied, and when I saw my watch it was 11:30 am, and finally after lunch there at army mess - Ohh ! I missed this food in these years after my retirement. But finally at exact 1:30 pm I flagged off my ride. While my ride towards Hayuliang I saw few of the bikes parked on the road side with lot of dust and mud on it, so as we believe in bikers brotherhood, I enquired about their bikes and came to know that their bikes got stalled because of some problems and they have called the mechanic from Tezu. With the nostalgia I left from there and reached walong at 4:30 pm. where I halted my ride. LOHITPUR - DAY 3 Unlike other riders I ride according to my convenience because I don't only ride for sake of covering distances but I ride to explore and feel the land and breeze of that place.   There are no mechanics in these areas, so those riders whose bikes gets stalled, they wait for the mechanic who comes from Tezu, so once two to three bikes gets stalled, mechanic comes. After assuring that they all were safe I resumed my ride . I reached Hayuliang by 3:30 pm. Started my ride at Sunrise to Lohitpur via Tezu on about 117 kms. I halted at army camp at Lohitpur which is about 14 kms from Tezu. CHOWKHAM - DAY 4 From Lohitpur, came down to Tezu, checked my bike to one mechanic and headed for Chowkham. Wherever and whenever I get opportunity, I used to explain people of about importance of girls in the society, be it people at chaiwala, restaurant, petrol pumps or some crowded areas. When some big town comes near, I used to leave highways and take up village roads to meet more and more people to let them know about the importance of girl child. and believe me it worked properly. I am glad till now that there were few families who realized their wrong perceptions for the girl child and I could manage to change it. And still few of the families are in touch with me since then. WALONG - DAY 2 I start my ride at sunrise and end at sunset, I usually avoid riding at nights. So this was my routine that I start my ride at about 7:30 am and ends at around 4:30 to 5:00 pm till the sunset.  In North East, Sun sets early, by 4:30 to 5:00 ish sun goes down. So I started at 7:30 am to Hayuliang of about 120 kms ride. In mountain range it takes lot of time to cover 100 kms, so I decided to go slow till I was in north East. I reached Chowkham and halted.   TINSUKHIA - DAY 5 From Chowkham to Tinsukhia via Dibrugarh about 100 kms ride. It was amazing ride, me being very close to nature. I still remember and feel the breeze of Tinsukhia. JORHAT - DAY 6 On about 182 kms ride to Jorhat in Assam from Tinsukhia, I halted at the hotel to spend night. There I met few of my old rider friends especially
