BIKERS CLUB FEB 2019 ISSUE | Seite 44

So I did proper service of my bike, and bought some extra spare parts like plugs, filters, magnet coil, clutch wire, brake wire, brake shoe, brake pad, 1 extra headlight bulb, 1 chain lubricant and engine oil (Motul synthetic dts). I wanted to keep less weights on my bike, so I did not take much of a clothes except 2 jackets, 2 T-shirts, one extra jean, 1 inners to protect me in cold and riding gears which I was about to wear all the time. sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere and sometimes in the middle of nowhere you find yourself Also some packs of ready to cook foods and dry fruits which was most essential to keep my body go on in some part of extreme conditions, and 2 bottles of water which I was gonna refill it on my pit stops. My bike tyres were new so I did not replace it but yes I kept puncture tool kits and some other tools for my bike if needed, and most important was my tent for resting in nights. Before I began my journey I did some R & D on my bike and I knew my bike would give me 80 kmpl average on highways and 60 kmpl average on extreme rough mountain roads compare to other heavy bikes which gives 30 to 40 kmpl average, so I was pretty sure that I was gonna save lot of money in petrol. And finally the journey day came 7th June 2018, in the early morning I started my journey. You know human behaviour is weird, we take decisions but to stick to it, requires lot of courage and focus, I knew this so before my journey I didn't take any debit or credit cards with me, it was a foolish and risky idea, I would never suggest this madness to any other riders because in any unforeseen situations, money is the only thing which will help you out, but I was mad and took the risk and ready to face any situations. Day 1 | 7th June, I hit the road from Indore and headed towards Jaipur, I was filled with excitement and determination, a morning breeze touching my soul and was humming a Mohd. Rafi songs, I hope you guys knows Mr. Rafi, sorry I forgot to mention I am part time singer too, and I sing for my band, ok enough of bragging about myself. After about 650 kms of 10 to 12 hours of riding I reached Jaipur. See It was a budgeted ride so I was decided of a menu of my meal which was Dal - Roti or Dal Khichadi. I used to take only one meal which was mostly a dinner, and in afternoon I was using my ready to cook packets and some chai - biscuit in my pit stop. to save time I had decided to take a pit stop near petrol pumps only, so that it helps me to save time. As I am non smoker and non drinker so that time and money also I was about to save, nothing against of those riders who smokes, many of my rider friend does. So at the day end I requested a highway dhaba guy to provide me some space to put up my tent where I ate Dal - Roti. Usually they don't say no to rider when they find out about your journey. That was my agenda for rest of my road days, either put up my tent on dhaba or any petrol pump to save money, my food expenses were nothing more than 50 to 70 Rs per day, and the same routine I was about to do all my other days of riding. Day 2 | 8th June, I woke up early, Every highway dhaba has a facility of toilets and water taps for truckers, so that has helped me to freshen up without spending any money. I was bit sceptical about my stay when I started my day 1 from Indore, because I have never had this kind of experience of requesting dhabas or petrol pumps for stay. But went very well, so I got more confident about rest of my days stay. So I started again from Jaipur and headed to Chandigarh of around 500 kms journey I ended my day 2 at my friend's house. I had told him about this ride, so it was already decided that I was gonna stay night at my friend's house in Chandigarh. Day 3 | 9th June, With all hospitality and good heavy breakfast (thanks dude for tasty parathas, which I packed some extra for my day 3), I headed towards Amritsar for about 230 kms which I reached in 4 hours, straight away went to Gold Temple to take some blessings, ate lunch there at "Langar" then after about 90 minutes brake at shrine, I headed for Vaishnodevi, which took me 250 kms and 5 hours. I reached there at night so I went to one dharamshala for stay, it was quite cheap, just 200 RS for a night. I slept early coz in the early morning I had to visit Mata ka Mandir for darshan. Day 4 | 10th June, With the Mata Ka Darshan in the early morning and lunch at langar, I wanted to leave for ride ahead but I could not, I was at such a peace at Vaishnodevi, so I decided to take a rest day and spent some quality time with my inner soul.
