MOTIVATIONAL RIDE TO
LEH-LADAKH
IN JUST 10,000 RUPEES
My story of completing road trip to Leh-
Ladakh from Indore (to and fro) in 10K
a story of karan singh by rahul mehta
I ride because I love riding and I am passionate about it, I love to
explore different places and its culture, I love to explore the
unexplored routes and for that I go at any extent. There is nothing in
this world excites me except riding motorcycles. I love to challenge
myself and push my limits to achieve my dreams, I know it sounds bit
crazy but believe me riding motorcycle is like oxygen for me without
which I feel empty.
I believe all the people in this world are living for something, for some
goals, be it money, fortune, good life, good wife or jobs what they do
but I live to explore wondrously and exploring Leh-Ladakh is one of
my those dreams.
When I decided to go for Leh-Ladakh from Indore (my hometown),
what was great in it ? I think nothing, because I feel Leh-Ladakh is
considered a mecca for riders, every year people ride to Leh-Ladakh
from different parts of India, may be different parts of the world as
well. But I chose to ride on my BAJAJ CT 100 (a 100cc bike), now
this was a challenge and to add more thrill and excitement, I decided
to complete Indore-Ladakh-Indore in just 10,000 RS only.
This was nearly impossible, my friends told me it's a craziness, you
can't complete this trip in just 10K, and why not? they were correct in
every manner, minimum amount a rider spends for Leh-Ladakh ride
is nothing less than 25K, so how on earth I would be able to
complete it in just a petty amount? where you have expenses like
petrol, food, stay and that to be a journey for 4,500 kms to and fro.
This was merely impossible but I had already made up my mind and
decision was made, now the question was HOW ?
So I started to work on my ride, nowadays with the help of internet
and maps you can work on minute details of your ride. First I had to
fix my bike on which my madness was about to happen. You know
my friends said it was a crazy decision of my riding on Bajaj CT 100
instead of RE Himalayan which I have too. But I think choosing Bajaj
CT 100 over RE Himalayan was the perfect decision I made for this
budgeted journey of mine because a 100cc bike would give me more
milage than any other heavy bikes only I was not sure about the
performance of my bike in low oxygen area but I was ready to take
that risk.
