Isobel Carlill
British Horseracing Authority
Having recently graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a Scottish Masters in Sustainable Development and Social Anthropology , I am delighted to have been accepted onto the British Horseracing Development Programme .
I have grown up with horses throughout my life and I am fortunate to currently own two horses who I have been able to compete within British Eventing for the past few years . I come from a family that loves racing , and have spent many days at Ascot , Goodwood , Epsom , and Sandown enjoying all that the incredible sport of horseracing has to offer . I am looking forward to being part of the Development Programme and really gaining an insight into all aspects of the horseracing industry . I am quite open to learning as much as I can , but have a particular desire to engage with marketing , equine welfare , and sustainability within the sport .
Toby Corkin The Racing Post
My name is Toby Corkin and I am a sports journalism graduate from Liverpool John Moores University .
In my last year of university I was able to travel to different courses and yards to produce unrivalled content for a local audience within the Liverpool city region .
At the moment I work within the charity sector based at the Museum Of Liverpool , but also do some freelance work for ITV Racing on their production team .
I ’ m looking forward to developing relationships with racing personnel in order to create engaging content for racing readers , and hopefully new followers to the sport .

My name is Mihir Gurjar . I am an international student pursuing my Masters in Sport Business Management from Manchester Metropolitan University . I am a Canadian who has lived in India for most parts of my life . I have built my life around the principle of ‘ to always keep on learning ’. When I saw the opportunity to have a placement on this programme , I was excited as it would give me an opportunity to explore a world unknown to me , but at the same time be in touch with the sports industry , something that my passion knows no end to . I would really love to learn more about the racing industry during my placement and hope that I can turn the development program into a full‐time role within the racing industry . My aim in racing is to try and make the sport more accessible which will help the sport grow .
