Siri and Alexa
Students are able to use Siri and Alexa throughout classrooms . These two tools are used to answer questions that students may have throughout a lesson . Typically these questions that students have are questions that are random , and the teacher may not know the answer right away . By having Siri and Alexa in the classroom , it allows the students to get the answer to the questions they may be looking for . Not only are students able to use Siri and Alexa , but teachers are also able to use them as well . Teachers are able to set timers , use audiobooks , random numbers , Simon Says , check the weather , and set reminders . Siri and Alexa are great tools to have in the classroom because it can take student and teacher learning to a new level .
Benefits of AI in Elementary Classrooms
Having AI in elementary classrooms can mean that students can improve their education . With AI in the classroom , students are able to get personalized learning at their own pace and are able to give them feedback to help identify the gaps a student may have . AI is able to make resources more accessible to all types of students in the classroom . For example , AI is able to read a text aloud to a visually impaired student or use sign language to translate for a deaf student . AI is also able to show children different types of technology that are available that can increase their interest in STEM . This then can lead students to use the skills they learned in elementary school to form their future careers . Students may want to continue to use Robotics into teens and AI is able to allow this to happen .
Conclusion
AI is all around us every day , as teachers we need to become more aware of how to incorporate it into the classroom , as many of our students are working with AI at home on their tablets or cell phones . By incorporating AI into classrooms , we are setting students up for success for later on in life . Having AI is an opportunity for students to take their learning at their own pace or become familiar with coding or robotics that could lead them into their future career .
